I’ve added the french OSM style as additional choice for the MapOSMatic and neighbourhood plan services.
The style files used can be found on GitHub and tiles are visible on the french OpenStreetMap site

Support different base layers in neighorhood maps
Now covering Europe instead of just Germany
You may have noticed that the services on this domain were a bit slow the last few days. This was due to a new database import running in the background, importing an OSM extract of all of Europe instead of just Germany.

Sven Geggus has announced the release of the new CartoOSM based German style for http://openstreetmap.de/
My MapOSMatic instance now also provides the new style (along with the old one for now).

I now finally got to doing the same for Leaflet and some of its plugins and created a Leaflet version, too.

OpenLayers -> Leaflet and other improvements
I added some more improvements to my MapOSMatic instance:
- selecting a GUI language works again
- slippy maps are now created with Leaflet instead of OpenLayers
- rendered maps list and details page now show rendered area
- city search is fast again

FrOSCon 11 (2016)
I just returned from FrOSCon in St. Augustin, Germany, where I had a talk on Creating printable maps, (with Video recording), and another one on GIS features in MariaDB and MySQL (not recorded)
Especially the “printable maps” one went pretty well, and several great ideas and feature requests were brought up in the Q&A part and in the hallway discussion afterwards …
OSM Summer Camp 2016 – Essen
I just returned from this years OSM Summer Camp, held in combination with the sixth FOSSGIS hacking event in and around the Linuxhotel.
Aside from celebrating the 12th OSM birthday I continued to hack on my local href=”MapOSMatic instance, the web editor for printable neighborhood maps, and MariaDB/MySQL and SpatiaLite backends for osm2pgsql.
