{"id":220,"date":"2017-08-12T21:58:10","date_gmt":"2017-08-12T21:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.get-map.org\/?p=220"},"modified":"2017-08-12T21:58:10","modified_gmt":"2017-08-12T21:58:10","slug":"surveillance-overlay-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.get-map.org\/index.php\/2017\/08\/12\/surveillance-overlay-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Surveillance overlay updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"preamble\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve finally shown the surveillance overlay some love again, the render style should now be up to date with the original <a href=\"https:\/\/kamba4.crux.uberspace.de\/\">Surveillance under Surveillance<\/a> online map style.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.get-map.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/surveillance-update.png\" style=\"border-width: 0; vertical-align: text-bottom;\" alt=\"align=right\"><\/p>\n<p>Changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> correctly calculate camera viewing ranges independent of zoom level <\/li>\n<li> support for new camera symbols for fixed and panning cameras <\/li>\n<li> some code cleanups <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To create a printable surveillance map for your area:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Go to my <a href=\"https:\/\/maposmatic.osm-baustelle.de\/new\/\">MapOSMatic instance<\/a> <\/li>\n<li> Select area by city name, or by choosing a rectangular geographic area <\/li>\n<li> Choose a page layout (the default should be OK) <\/li>\n<li> Choose a map style (#3 &#8220;Monochrome version of CartoCSS OSM&#8221; is probably best for this) <\/li>\n<li> Choose the &#8220;Surveillance Camera&#8221; overlay from the overlay list (3rd from the bottom) <\/li>\n<li> Choose a paper size and orientation <\/li>\n<li> You can skip the GPX track upload step <\/li>\n<li> Enter a page title, and optionally a notification email address <\/li>\n<li> Submit request <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Single page render requests should usually only take 5 minutes or less to process, but depending on queue size and complexity of other jobs in the queue longer wait times are sometimes possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve finally shown the surveillance overlay some love again, the render style should now be up to date with the original Surveillance under Surveillance online map style.
